This artwork tells us about the Aboriginal myth of the Rainbow Snake. The desert was an essential part in the world of the aboriginals. When, after a long dry period, rain starts falling there, the whole desert explodes within a few days in a miraculous and abundant ecstacy of flowers. Thus the Rainbow Snake has tremendous lifeforce and indicates big changes and growth. When the raindrops fall the eagle rises from its ashes, like in the story of the firebird.

When you draw this card you are invited to open up for the energy of transformation and change. Transformation is often preceded by a feeling of emptiness, a desert-like feeling. But the new life, the transformation is already growing in your pouch. It may not be the time for the new life to come out yet, but when the time is there,  rain will start falling in your inner desert, allowing all the new life to explode into an ecstacy of colors and fragrance. The way may be long and hard. But when you arrive at your holy inner place, you can relieve your thirsty feelings (for knowledge). Enjoy then the abundance and peace that have been granted to you.
